Our own cactus and succulent mix (3 lbs)

A soilless mixture which includes vermiculite, composted bark, perlite and a small amount of peat. This is a light mix which promotes aeration and drainage essential for cacti and succulents. Fertilizer should be used since this is a soilless mix.

Horticultural pumice (5 lbs)

Prefered by many growers, it has low density and improves the porosity and aeration of your soil.

Pumice is a chemically inert, high-silica rock with a neutral pH, and contains millions of interconnecting spherical voids which enable the pumice to absorb, retain and release water. This also means that pumice applications will help to regulate fertilizer in the soil, absorbing necessary nutrients, and releasing them slowly back to the plant.

Add it to a regular potting soil to increase aeration and drainage - perfect for cacti and succulents.

Perlite (1 lb)

Perlite is not a trade name but a generic term for naturally occurring siliceous rock. When heated to a suitable point, it expands from four to twenty times its original volume. This expanded perlite makes a perfect soil additive for cacti and succulents.

Add it to a regular potting soil for a light-weight mix that will increase aeration and drainage for your container gardening. Other benefits are its neutral pH and the fact that it is sterile and weed-free.

Many growers will use 100% perlite for rooting cuttings.
